This specimen was lot 1443 in Jean Elsen sale 160 (Brussels, November 2024), where it sold for €1,800 (about US$2,279 including buyer's fees). The catalog description&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;[1]&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; noted, &amp;lt;blockquote&amp;gt;&amp;quot;''BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold Ier (1831-1865), AR 2 francs, 1838. Pos. A. Lettres inclinées à d. Très rare. Beau.'' (kingdom of [[Belgium]], Leopold I, silver two francs of 1838, position A, letters inclined to right. Very rare, good.)&amp;quot;&amp;lt;/blockquote&amp;gt; Position A refers to the orientation of the edge lettering when holding the coin king side up: position A is upright lettering, position B is upside down lettering. This type was struck 1834-35 and 1838-44 to the module of a French two francs. All the dates are scarce, especially in Very Fine or better.&lt;br /&gt;
