This specimen was lot 6058 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €5,000 (about US$6,461 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH, Maximilian II. 1848-1864. Goldabschlag von den Stempeln des Ku.-2 Pfennig-Stücks 1850. Gekröntes, vierfeldiges Wappen mit Mittelschild zwischen Eichenzweigen//Wert und Jahresangabe. Rand geriffelt. GOLD. Von allergrößter Seltenheit. Feine Goldtönung, Stempelglanz, Exemplar der Sammlung Coenen. Exemplar der Slg. Bayern und das Haus Wittelsbach, Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 108, Osnabrück 2006, Nr. 680.'' This off-metal strike is not mentioned in the SCWC and may be unique.
