This specimen was issued by [[Bangladesh]] as part of the F.A.O. series. The Bangladeshi government became an enthusiastic supporter of the F.A.O. program and issued many F.A.O. coins in the 1970's. This type was struck 1977-81 and 1994. This denomination was not issued thereafter, the lowest denomination being the fifty poisha, last issued in 2001. In 1981, US$1 = 19.3 taka.
