This specimen was lot 4020 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €420 (about US$566 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''REICHSGOLDMÜNZEN, BADEN, Friedrich I. 1852-1907. 10 Mark 1907. Fast vorzüglich.'' ([[Germany]], unified gold coinage, grand duchy of Baden, Frederick I, 1852-1907, ten mark of 1907, about extremely fine.)"</blockquote> Altho Baden was not a major issuer of coins prior to unification, its issues during the Empire (1871-1918) were substantial. The Baden mint at Karlsruhe (mintmark "G") struck minor coins during the Empire and afterward until today. This type was struck 1902-07 for Friedrich I, grand duke 1852-1907. This older bust of the grand duke also appears on two mark (KM 278) and five mark (KM 274). <br />
