This specimen is one of a type struck 1896-99, 1905-1942 for [[Argentina]], most likely at the Buenos Aires mint. It is accompanied by copper-nickel [[Argentina 1930 5 centavos|five]] and [[Argentina 1929 20 centavos|twenty centavos]]. The three types had the longest production run of any Argentine coin. They are very common in low grade but surprisingly scarce in choice condition.&lt;br /&gt;
