Schwarzenberg 1725 thaler Dav-2773
This specimen was lot 274 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €5,500 (about US$7,135 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWARZENBERG, Adam Franz, 1703-1732. Reichstaler 1725, Wien. Von großer Seltenheit, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, principality of Schwarzenberg, Adam Francis, 1703-32, thaler of 1725, Vienna mint. Extremely rare, especially in this quality, premium example, extremely fine-uncirculated.)"
The SCWC also notes a ducat from this prince in 1729. The mint right was granted to the prince for his services to the emperor. Schwarzenberg was wedged between Wurzburg and Bayreuth and passed to Bavaria in 1806. The prince was accidentally shot and killed by the emperor during a deer hunt. He was 51 years old.
