Steve Album Auction 52, lot 2904

This specimen was lot 2904 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "AFGHANISTAN: Habibullah, 1901-1919, AR 5 rupees, AH1319 year 3, average strike, scarce date, VF." Milled coinage was introduced to Afghanistan during the reign of Abdur Rahman (1880-1901). This type was struck AH 1319 only along with KM 834.2 (date to left). It is not believed to exist in uncirculated condition.

Specification: 45.6 g, 0.900 fine silver, 46 mm diameter, reeded edge.
